Bureau of Corrections Divisions
Security Division
The Security Division is responsible for the care and custody of persons incarcerated as per court order or lawful arrest.
Identification Division
The Identification Division serves as a central repository for all criminal records of persons arrested in Morris County. Manned 24 hours a day, information such as fingerprints, criminal histories and photographs is made available to federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. This division is also responsible for the maintenance of all records of current and former inmates, SLAP records, inmate accounts and records generated by the Classification Unit.
Support Services Division
This division handles the majority of services made available to and utilized by the correctional facility. This includes everything from food and medical services to inmate programs, coordination of visits, maintenance repairs and oversight of private contractors who must be monitored by sworn staff to ensure that all provisions set forth in each contract are being adhered to.
The Bureau of Corrections also operates the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program (SLAP). This program provides an alternative to incarceration for individuals sentenced to serve jail time for non-violent offenses. Under the supervision of sheriff’s officers, participants perform a wide range of community service throughout Morris County.
